More public awareness about portion control and the health benefits of watching how much we consume at any given sitting have pushed producers to create packaging that is user friendly and helps reduce food waste. For example, many pasta and rice companies have included clear panels on the sides of their boxes that indicate how much to pour out per serving. This makes it easier to watch what you eat, and helps prevent you from preparing more than you will consume.
